Soda Blonde are: Faye O'Rourke, Adam O'Regan, Dylan Lynch, and Donagh Seaver-O'Leary.
When Soda Blonde debuted their live stream 'Love Me World' concert, it was one of the first in a string of high-quality, beautifully filmed gigs that have since become a popular staple of lockdown culture. Now, they've released the entire 30-minute film for anyone who missed the stream, and it's well worth the watch.
Born from an insatiable desire to create even in the midst of the pandemic, Soda Blonde put together a small crew (Kelly Campbell, Daniel Katz, Eugenia Genucci, David Crean and Ryan Hargadon), and filmed the live stream in a boutique hotel in Dublin. Featuring their stunning catalogue of alt-pop tunes (and a couple unreleased songs), this is a live stream like no other, taking inspiration from Jonathon Demme’s iconic ‘Stop Making Sense’, with a nod to Lila Avilés’ ’The Chambermaid’.
"In a playful nod to the sterilised times we live in, the show opens with Faye dressed as a hotel cleaning lady," the band says. "On her hands and knees, she sanitises her way across a festooned catwalk to a heightened new world of her imagination.
"‘Love Me World’ is about the idea of bending to fit the zeitgeist in the pursuit of acceptance and love. With that in mind. we wanted our performance to evolve with each song and eventually lead to a ‘Cinderella’ moment."
