This first of four interconnecting videos, directed by the band's guitarist Adam O'Regan.
Soda Blonde have made a surprise return, with the stunningly cinematic video for the title track of their eagerly-awaited debut album, Small Talk (July 19 via Velveteen Records).
The video, directed by the band's guitarist Adam O'Regan, was announced via social media yesterday afternoon.
"A few months ago we sat down at a round table and decided that, rather than make one music video, we would attempt to make a short film in 4 parts," the band explained via Instagram.
"We wrote a story inspired by our own journeys through marriage, family, social politics and addiction. We delved deep into the Ancient Greek Rituals of the Dionysian Mysteries and added a pinch of that too," they continued. "Pulling off the shoot was an enormous undertaking with the restrictions. But through the incredible talent and efforts of our extraordinary cast and crew we are very proud to present the first two parts of the story."
Set between the stunning Irish countryside, an arena gig for a motivational speaker, and the beginnings of a dinner party, lead singer Faye O'Rourke plays a newly-engaged fiancée, going to meet her partner's family for the first time. There's no doubt we'll see the revolving cast of characters again in the following videos, but 'Small Talk' features Dublin-based actors Fionn Foley and Hannah Mamalis, RTÉ's Stephen Byrne, vocal coach/opera singer Judith Mok and her husband, writer and poet Michael O'Loughlin, and Alexa Armolea.

The video, which looks in equal, electrifying turns to be modelled after Jim Jarmusch, Wes Anderson and Blade Runner, is an exciting glimpse of what we can expect from one of Ireland's best and most polished alternative acts.
