The band's highly-anticipated debut album, 'Small Talk', will be released via Velveteen Records on July 9.
Dublin alt-pop stalwarts Soda Blonde are back with 'In The Heat Of The Night', the sophomore single from their forthcoming debut album, Small Talk.
Groove-laden, with a radio-ready hook and subtle but complex instrumentation, the song sees the group holding a candle to dealing with conflict, and the thrill of getting into an argument.
"The music possessed an attitude that I wasn’t familiar with as a songwriter," says lead singer Faye O'Rourke. "It deftly evoked the neon of night and brought Scorcese’s Casino to mind. Our goal was to create a song that had everything we wanted to hear. It allowed me to write uninhibited by the labour of self-analysis. It’s a song about conflict, and getting a kick out of it – the thrill of the fight."
Fans of the group's former band, Little Green Cars, have been waiting with bated breath for this new record, and to say that 'In The Heat Of The Night' signals a thrilling new chapter for the quartet would be a vast understatement.
In addition to a host of Irish tour dates scheduled for early Autumn, Soda Blonde will also be playing The Great Escape Online Festival on May 13.
