The new episodes are set to premiere on BBC One Northern Ireland on February 8.
Frequently referred to as a ‘mockumentary’, the instantaneously popular comedy is back with a new five-part series centring on a version of Northern Ireland in which Brexit entails a soft border.
Soft Border Patrol is made by Comedy Unit, a production company based in Glasgow and was developed with BBC NI Comedy as part of the BBC Writersroom initiative.
The show bolsters a well-rounded cast, including Karen Hassan, in the role of Soft Border Patrol CEO Lisa McCoy, alongside Neil Delamere and Shane Todd. The show’s hilarity can be credited in large part to its actors, who improvise a great deal of the show’s dialogue.
