Not to be confused with Disney's live action Mulan.
TV director Alex Graves will direct Sony's Mulan movie. While most people know the story from the Disney animated film, but the original story predates by around 1500 years. Hua Mulan is a legendary figure in mythology, but the basic premise of a young woman pretending to be a man so that her father won't be conscripted remained intact.
Sony wants to do their own take on the story, and have hired Alex Graves to direct. Graves is best known for his work on television, directing six episodes of Game of Thrones and thirty four episodes of The West Wing.
