Sound Of Music Star Dies On Christmas Eve
Actress Heather Menzies, who is probably best known for playing one of the von Trapp children in 'The Sound of Music' movie, has passed away.
Heather, who was married to Hollywood star Robert Urich until his death in 2002, died from cancer at the age of 68 on Christmas Eve.
Apart from 1965 movie 'The Sound of Music', she also starred in TV series 'Logan's Run'.
Back in 1973 during the height of her fame, Heather featured in Playboy magazine in a pictorial entitled "Tender Trapp", in a clear reference to her 'The Sound of Music' role.
After her husband died of a rare form of cancer in 2002, Heather established the Robert Urich Foundation and "spent most of her time", according to Wikipedia, raising money for cancer research and support for cancer patients.

During her acting career, she appeared in TV shows like S.W.A.T., T.J. Hooker , Dragnet, Alias Smith and Jones and The Love Boat.
Some of her movies include 'How Sweet It Is!', 'Piranha', 'Hawaii' and 'Endangered Species '.
But, as we say, she will be most fondly remembered for her role as one of the von Trapp children in 'The Sound of Music', which is a hugely popular movie during the festive season.
So Long, farewell...
