As their song goes, Say you'll be there. The Spice Girls are going to make history by becoming the first ever girl group to grace the stage at Croke Park.
The 90s girl group, who last played in Ireland 21 years ago, will perform in Dublin on Friday 24 May, with tickets going on sale next Thursday (22 November) via Ticketmaster.
The announcement was made this morning at a press conference organised by MCD, who said it will be the group's only Irish date of their planned upcoming tour.
It had originally been feared that the Spice Girls wouldn't be performing in Ireland, after they had announced a string of UK only dates recently. There's been a dozen UK dates announced so far and all are sold-out.
But Irish fans were always hopeful. A few months back, the Irish betting firm Paddy Power had put the girl group at 5/4 to add a Croke Park gig in 2019. A little less likely, the girl group have been odds of 20/1 to headline Electric Picnic.

Jess Glynne will support the Spice Girls the tour, which kicks off at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on 29 March.
Excited by the news Glynne tweeted earlier this year, "ARE YOU MAD! I'm Joining @spicegirls ON TOUR!"
The reunion was first hinted in February on Instagram posted by Victoria Beckham. Although first to tease the tour, Beckham will not be joining the other members Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell on tour. She last performed with the Spice Girls at 2012 London Olympics.
Mel B used her Halloween costume to have her say on Beckham refusing to re-join the group. She dressed us as Posh Spice for Heidi Klum's Halloween party, wearing a Posh mask, a black mini dress and red heels. Mel B held an axe as a sign saying "NO I AM NOT GOING ON TOUR".
She was accompanied by her friend Gary Madatyan who dressed up as husband David Beckham in LA Galaxy gear. Madatyan also held a sign begging copy-cat Posh Spice to join the reunion. His sign read “Please Please Please Do It For The Spice Fans."
Taking to social media, Beckham expressed her views about the reunion to Instagram. The former member stated: "Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed together in 2012! I won't be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year. I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time! X vb #spicegirls #friendshipneverends."
it's a shame she won't be there, but it's going to be a great day out for Spice Girl fans regardless...
