Netflix has announced that the highly anticipated 'Star Trek: Discovery' will be available to Irish viewers to stream from 25 September.
All new episodes will be available on Netflix weekly on Mondays. The 15-episode season will be released in two chapters. The first eight episodes will run from Monday, 25 September through 6 November. The season will then resume with the second chapter in January 2018.
Star Trek: Discovery follows the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself.
Star Trek, one of the most iconic and influential global television franchises, returns to television 50 years after it first premiered with Star Trek: Discovery. The series will feature a new ship, new characters and new missions, while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers.
The return of the famed franchise will premiere this autumn on Netflix everywhere, except the US and Canada where it will be available on CBS All Access and Bell Media respectively, following a broadcast premiere on the CBS Television Network. Additionally, the series will feature 15 episodes, up from the previously announced 13. Each episode will launch on Netflix 24 hours after the US premiere on CBS.
