In celebration of his highly anticipated debut album Holy/Unholy, Limerick poet and rapper Strange Boy has shared a visceral, cinematic video for his song 'Waiting'.

Painting a living portrait of the country’s youth, 'Waiting' is a slow poem backed by arresting traditional music. Tableaus of small groups of people are set against a fiery Limerick sunset, as Strange Boy combines the old and new cultural influences dominant in Ireland to illustrate his joys and his frustrations.

The music was composed and produced by Enda Gallery in Kilfenora, Co. Clare during lockdown.

“I’ve lots of memories of growing up in Limerick, good and bad," Strange Boy explains. "With 'Waiting', I wanted to put into perspective how my hometown shaped my personality.”

“It breaks my heart open to hear it. Every time. I feel like we are witnessing one of the all-time greats," Enda added in a statement.
