The Hollywood actress has said that getting arrested "was worth it".
71-year-old Susan Sarandon took to Twitter during the weekend to reveal that she'd been arrested by cops in Washington after participating in a sit-in rally to protest against the US President’s immigration policy on 28 June.
Cops charged a total of 575 women with unlawfully demonstrating at the rally that took place at a US Senate building.
“Arrested. Stay strong. Keep fighting. #WomenDisobey," Susan Sarandon wrote on Twitter.
She isn't by any means the first Hollywood star to be arrested at a protest. All the way back in 2006, Martin Sheen told Hot Press that he'd not regrets about being arrested a staggering 65 times for his involvement in protests.
It was worth it. There’s also more protests nationwide tomorrow. Find one near you by clicking here: https://t.co/3NGFQtJIqb

Powerful, beautiful action with hundreds of women saying we demand the reunification of families separated by immoral ICE policy. This is what Democracy looks like. #WomenDisobey https://t.co/NDHDISPTPD pic.twitter.com/szBOJ43D6y

To all those who find blaming me less painful than introspection, never knew I was this powerful. pic.twitter.com/etgSWBcH6a
