This is likely an attempt to boost Fianna Fáil's popularity among young people in Ireland.
"The Taoiseach's on TikTok," Micheál Martin has declared. There's a sentence we never thought we'd write...
The Fianna Fail leader made his debut earlier this month by hopping on the trend of using Harry Styles' No.1 hit single 'As It Was' as he shared a nostalgic montage of his political career.

The Taoiseach followed up by sharing a more substantial video, talking about the need to reform the Leaving Cert. "It has to provide more options for assessment, and to measure a more complete range of skills," Martin explained. He continued, "We're determined to deliver on this and to ensure that education will continue to be the foundation stone for building social and economic progress in our country."

The video has garnered over 4,000 likes, and almost 200 comments. Many comments, however, are less than supportive of the Taoiseach's government. One user wrote, "This country needs reform, starting with you and your party. Ppl are so tired."
This new presence on TikTok, an app used mostly by young people, is likely a goal to improve Fianna Fáil's standing with the age group.
