Swift dramatically joined Bon Iver and Aaron Dessner on the London stage to perform her side of the duet.
At Bon Iver's London concert last night, Taylor Swift surprised fans by joining him on stage to perform their collaborative track 'exile' from Swift's 2020 album folklore. Also gracing the stage was The National's Aaron Dessner, co-producer of the track alongside Joe Alwyn.
'exile' was the trio's first collaboration but far from their last. Swift and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon joined forces again for the titular track of Swift's followup to folklore, evermore. The album also featured 'coney island', a collaboration with Dessner. All three artists came together once again in 2021 for 'Renegade,' on Big Red Machine's (Vernon and Dessner's side project along with Anaïs Mitchell) sophomore album How Long Do You Think It's Gonna Last?.
Swift is hot off her latest album release last Friday, Midnights, which was so popular it crashed Spotify. The album broke the record for most-streamed album in a single day in Spotify history, with 184.6 million streams.
The crowd at London's OVO Arena in Wembley went wild at the surprise guest appearance. Vernon began to sing 'exile' alone for the first few verses before Swift dramatically entered for her part of the duet. One fan wrote on Instagram, "When you get tickets to see one of your fav artists and 2 other favourites join in..."
Swift carried on her usual praise of her frequent collaborators as she called Vernon and Dessner "the most talented men in the world." Vernon then joked that this appearance would be hard to follow.

After two nights in London, Vernon will continue on his tour with the next stop in Berlin at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
