The English pop/rock band are set to release their fifth studio album Being Funny in a Foreign Language on October 14 via Dirty Hit.
Eagle-eyed The 1975 fans have spotted a new poster in London, announcing the band's forthcoming single 'Happiness', which will be released next Wednesday, August 3.
The song will follow the pop rock quartet's latest single ‘Part of the Band' and feature on their fifth LP Being Funny in a Foreign Language, set for release on October 14, 2022 via Dirty Hit.

‘Part of the Band', a collaboration with Jack Antonoff as co-producer and Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast as a contributing vocalist, was released earlier this month to critical acclaim.
"She was part of the Air Force, I was part of the band/I always used to bust into her hand, in my, my, my imagination," vocalist Matty Healy reflects about his past in the opening lines of the song. He has since confirmed that ‘Part of the Band' originated from a bridge written for the unreleased track 'New York' by English singer-songwriter Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
Healy performed 'New York' in 2021 as a support act for Phoebe Bridgers.
He wrote on Reddit: "Hey guys I’ve just started doing interviews where I explain the record and it’s context. Just for you guys, as I see you talking about it, New York is not on the album: New York is a song written by my friend Benjamin Francis Lefwich. I love the song and it didn’t have a bridge.
"So when I opened up for Phoebe [Bridgers] I kinda wanted to do that old school Greenwich Village folk scene thing where people used to just play songs that were knocking around by other artists. The bridge was written by me. And then became part of the band. New York will be finished eventually but is not a song of The 1975. Love you see you really soon x"
The 1975 will make their return to the stage in August 2022, joining Post Malone as headliners of Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival. It will mark their first performance as a band since their show at Dublin's 3Arena in March 2020.
Healy also joined Bridgers on stage at her gig at the O2 Academy Brixton in London last night (July 26) for the last song of the night off of her 2020 album Punisher, 'I Know The End'.
