Special edition of the iconic, 1982 LP Combat Rock includes 12 additional tracks of rare, previously unreleased material.
Legendary English rock band The Clash have announced a 40th anniversary reissue of Combat Rock. Originally released in 1982, the special edition will reveal rare and never-before heard material.
The 12 additional tracks include demos, collaborations, and instrumental versions of classic songs such as ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go,’ 'Know Your Rights,' ‘Straight To Hell,’ and many more.
The EP will highlight previously unaired collaborations with Ranking Roger that bring the Beat frontman's flair to well known tracks like ‘Red Angel Dragnet,’ and ‘Rock The Casbah.’
This bonus material was pulled from The Clash's 1981 residency at The People's Hall in New York City. Curated by surviving band members, these tracks chart the period between single 'Radio Clash' and the release of Combat Rock. This penultimate album marks the end of the band's classic line-up.
40 years since the band's best-selling album went double platinum, their legacy as London's pioneers of punk-rock continues to inspire and provoke. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are ranked number 28 on Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Artists of All Time" list.
