The Complex are making their home in a brand new space, launching a multi-purpose arts venue on Arran Street East. In what was formerly a produce market, the Complex team has established a dynamic collection of interconnecting warehouses that they have transposed into a gallery, 17 artist studios, a rehearsal room and a large, versatile warehouse venue.

Its raw industrial aesthetic has been retained, the trademark of the Complex’s last five conversions of places for arts practice. The new Complex will create a night-time culture, bringing new life and tourism into the north west inner city of Dublin, as the old Victorian market undergoes regeneration.

The venue will be the home of a curated programme of work as well as being available to hire out to colleagues and visitors.

“Arts of all disciplines are encouraged to co-exist," reads a statement. "All spaces offer the option to perform in different settings using modular seating and stage configurations in an open plan arena. This will enable design to explore theatre in the round, traverse, promenade, aerial, sculpture, 3D installations, and commercially creative staging from catwalks, decks in the centre of the room, to car launches. And for performers to tease out a new relationship with their audiences. It is accessible and it is exciting.”
