The Mary Stokes Band's forthcoming Dublin show will take place on July 14th.
Dublin group The Mary Stokes Band will be performing at Arthur's Blues and Jazz Club for a special show and will feature powerful horn section 'The Mourning Horns'.
The show will take place ahead of The Mary Stokes Band's performances at two of Dublin's major blues festivals: Whelan's Brass, Roots and Blues festival on August 4th, and Howth Roots and Blues festival on August 13th.
The band have also released a remix of Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee's blues classic 'I'm a Stranger Here'. The original track was included in their most recent album release, 2023's Let 'Er Roll!. The remix comes as a semi-acoustic reimagining and features Irish Blues singer Bree Harris on the track as second vocals. The collaboration between the two singers comes as the culmination of many jam sessions together.
The Mary Stokes Band has had a long and prolific career, releasing over 10 albums since their 1997 debut Ten Years On the Road. They have released two acclaimed albums in the last three years, and have enjoyed international success. Additionally, a new live album featuring a full brass section is due soon.
