The event, known as ‘The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever’, takes place each year in various locations around the world, where participants perform the choreographed dance from Bush’s classic music video.
'The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever' is coming to Fairview Park in Dublin on Saturday, July 30 – inviting people to do their "finest Kate Bush garb" for a group performance of the iconic dance routine in support of Women's Aid.
In 2013, hundreds dressed in flowy red dresses danced to ‘Wuthering Heights’ by Kate Bush in Brighton, England. In an attempt to set a record for the most amount of people dressed as Kate Bush in one place, the Shambush! theatre company ended up creating a now yearly and worldwide tradition.

‘Wuthering Heights’ was Bush’s debut single, which she released at just 19 years old. With it, she earned the title of the first female artist to achieve a UK number one with a self-written song. Bush’s 1978 song continues to bring people together over 4 decades later. The event, now known as ‘The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever’, takes place each year in various locations around the world, where participants perform the choreographed dance from Bush’s song's music video.

Due to the pandemic, 2022 is the first year of many that ‘The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever’ will return. The event requires about a €5 registration fee to raise money for Women’s Aid, an organization which works to stop domestic violence against women and children.
It seems as though Kate Bush’s music is not going anywhere. These events, along with ‘Running Up That Hill’s feature in Stranger Things, demonstrate that Bush is continuing to stay relevant as the years go by. Her last music release was Before The Dawn, a live album recorded in 2014 at her 22-date residency at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, which was her first return to the stage in 35 years. Perhaps all of this attention will inspire another resurgence from everyone's favourite throwback artist!
The Dublin event will take place on July 30th at Fairview park. It states that all are welcome, and it will include a picnic and dance rehearsal. Get your hands on your best Kate Bush outfit and RSVP here!
