The film stars a plethora of Hollywood talent, including Academy Award Nominees Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet.
Carell, renowned for his comedic roles, made the move to drama with 2014’s ‘Foxcatcher,’ earning him an Oscar nomination. His onscreen son, Timothée Chalamet, was catapulted to fame with Luca Guadagnino's 2017 romance ‘Call Me by Your Name.’ At 22 years old, Chalamet was the youngest Best Actor Nominee in almost 80 years.
‘Beautiful Boy’ is based on the acclaimed memoirs ‘Beautiful Boy’ by David Sheff and ‘Tweak’ by his son, Nic Sheff. The screenplay was written by acclaimed ‘Lion’ screenwriter, Luke Davies.
The film follows David and Nic, a father and son, as they attempt to navigate Nic’s drug addiction. The film is already generating Oscar buzz, and if the trailer is anything to go by, this will be the tearjerker of the season.
