UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor has been caught up in some trouble, being arrested and charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief following an altercation at a media event in Brooklyn, New York.
McGregor and his associates arrived at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, launching a hand truck at a bus in the arena, which was transporting UFC fighters from a promotional event. The event, part of which was caught on video and circulated on social media, shows McGregor running around a loading bay, picking up an undetermined item and throwing it at the back of the bus, cracking the windshield of the bus.

Also caught up in the drama is fellow MMA fighter Cian Cowley, who is also facing one count of assault and one count of criminal mischief.
Both are due in court in New York later today.

It has been speculated that the event was provoked when Russian lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov confronted McGregor’s friend, team mate and sparring partner Artem Lobov in a New York hotel.
A statement from the UFC read in part, "The organisation deems today’s disruption completely unacceptable and is currently working on the consequences that will follow. Immediately, Lobov has been removed from this weekend’s card and individuals involved in the incident are not welcome at tomorrow’s ceremonial weigh-in or Saturday’s event at Barclays Center.”
President of the UFC Dana White spoke to website MMA Junkie, calling the incident “the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in the history of the company.”

I’m not condoning Conor McGregor’s actions, but find yourself a friend that will literally fly in from another continent to defend you.

It’s like @joerogan always says, being a wild motherfucker like Jon Jones brings greatness and chaos.
The same applies to Conor McGregor.— True Geordie (@TrueGeordieTG) 6 April 2018
Never any joy in seeing someone destroy their own career but no sympathy either. Conor McGregor fanboys and enablers should feel pretty shite.
