The three-part series of music, art, craft and design evening events will take place in the National Gallery of Ireland this Autumn/Winter season.
The National Gallery of Ireland has announced the return of their 'Thursday Lates' series - a specially curated three-part series of unique evening events. The series will take place over October, November and December, with the first event commencing at 5.30pm on Thursday, October 13.
In preparation for Halloween, guests can take part in a range of activities - including ghostly tours of the national collection, led by Underthings, an improv duo from Dublin. Visitors of the first 'Thursday Lates' event can also enjoy spooky music in the Gallery’s Winter Garden, with DJ Conor Behan providing the entertainment. Food and drinks will be served in the Gallery café along with some festive trick or treats.
A design and craft themed 'Thursday Late' event will take place on November 10 at 4.30pm. A tour highlighting some of the exquisite fashion and design featured in the Gallery’s collection will highlight the event. In addition, there will be a craft and design showcase and demonstrations by a range of artists and designers associated with the Gallery.
In the lead up to the festive season, an evening of music will take place on December 1. Specially created tours exploring music in the national collection will run from 4.30pm on the day, with award-winning pianist Máire Carroll performing in the Gallery’s Shaw Room. The exclusive performance of ‘Hidden Pianos’ will also feature the public premiere of a new composition for the National Gallery of Ireland by the Carroll.
