Alas, the long-anticipated titles no longer have to be referred to as Avatar two, three, four and five
The four sequels to James Cameron’s epic science fiction film have been in production since preliminary shooting began in Manhattan Beach, California August 2017.
The first film received nine Academy award nominations and is still the highest grossing film ever at the worldwide box office – 2.8 billion dollars, nearly ten years after its release.
The BBC reports the names will be titled:
Avatar: The Way of Water
Avatar: The Seed Bearer
Avatar: The Tulkun Rider

Avatar: The Quest for Eywa
Just last week, Sigourney Weaver, who returns as Dr Grace Augustine, told The Hollywood Reporter: "We just finished shooting two and three" and that she was about to start being "busy doing Avatar four and five".
The second film is set to hit cinemas December 2020 and will be produced by Cameron, Jon Landau and Josh Friedman.
Stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi and Joel David Moore will all return along with the introduction of Kate Winslet, Oona Chaplin and David Thewlis. The third instalment is set for a December 2021 release with the fourth and fifth instalments expected for 2024 and 2025.
