Tickets for Toro y Moi's European tour go on sale this Friday, new album Mahal out on April 29th.
Chillwave artist Toro y Moi (Chaz Bear) has announced a ten-stop European tour that will kick off this October.
These performances will follow the musician's upcoming album Mahal, which arrives on April 29. The California-based South Carolina native will conclude his travels at The Academy in Dublin on October 14.
Mahal will be the musician's seventh studio album in a 12 year long career. This will be his first release since signing with the Dead Oceans record label. Fans can expect the nostalgic, psychedelic, and house influences that Chaz's music is known for.
Four singles have been released to promote the thirteen track album. Toro takes inspiration from many sources on Mahal, including psychedelia and the post-rock movement of the 1990s.
"Mahal is also an unmistakably Toro y Moi experience, calling back to previous works while charting a new path forward in a way that only Bear can do," a representative from Dead Oceans said. "The second the album begins, we're immediately transported into the passenger seat, jeep sounds and all, ready for the ride Chaz and company have concocted for us."
Mahal was largely written in Toro's Oakland studio with the help of collaborators Sofie Royer, Unknown Mortal Orchestra's Ruban Neilson and Neon Indian's Alan Palomo.
'Postman', 'Magazine' and 'Deja Vu' are Toro's first releases since signing with the Dead Oceans. The label also represents other indie-pop artists Phoebe Bridgers, Mitski, and Slowdive.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 8th at 10am on the artist's official website
