Our track of the day today comes from Daithí with "Orange" featuring Sinead White.
"Orange" presents a new side from electronic music producer Daithí. With stunning vocals from Sinead White, the song is a gorgeous blend of melodic beats and resonant lyrics that depict the aftermath of a relationship breakdown - encompassing all of the pain and longing that goes alongside but ultimately, acknowledging the need to move on.
"We always talked about the future as if it was a sure thing, and we always thought that we were different - I guess that's what we all think".
With 50 scenes, all shot in one day, and over 80 costume changes, the video is a stunning feat, depicting the dissolution of a relationship between a young couple. Set within one location with two main actors it manages to convey the heart-breaking reality of modern relationships; how love blossoms, grows, changes and falls apart.
Director Lochlainn McKenna explains, “we wanted to make a story that could translate across the world, a story that would be relatable to anyone who has ever been in a relationship, anywhere".

It's "an introspective into the lives of a young couple over the course of 3 years. We watch them meet, grow, develop and ultimately disintegrate. It explores the nuances of everyday relationships, and draws us in by the small yet stirring gestures".
Indeed, it is through the small gestures that the truth of the relationship really comes out. Lowering phone screens from your partner's gaze. Meaningful glances the other fails to notice. Taking down the clock on the wall. Hovering touches. All combine to paint a beautifully complex portrait of a fracturing relationship.
