The video is playful and full of humour.
Yesterday, Waterford rapper, producer and drummer Alex Gough shared the highly-anticipated visuals for his single 'That's My Job'.
The elecrifying track, which shows off Gough's considerable skills as a percussionist as well as his self-deprecating humour, is taken from his debut mixtape FOREVER CLASSIC. We caught up with Gough about the mixtape late last year, where we asked Gough how his drumming has influenced his unique style of hip-hop. He had this to say:
"Both of them are intrinsically linked, even if you don’t realise it straight away. The basis of drumming is rhythm, and it’s the same with rap. The only difference is where you apply the rhythm. One is words, and one is sounds. I think it’s easier to rap and play drums than it is to sing and play drums. All the rhythms coming out of your mouth will often line up with the rhythms you’re playing. With singing, there’s more to think about."
Yesterday, Gough performed at Eurosonic Noorderslag 2021, alongside other Irish talents including Tebi Rex, Denise Chaila, NewDad, Robert Grace and more.
