Krantz was keen to capture elements of Americana, despite being born in London and based in Dublin. The singer-songwriter spent time living in New York.
London-born singer-songwriter Anna Krantz wrote her latest track, 'We Could Be High', entirely in lockdown. Wary of collaborating over the Internet, she returned to some of her longtime collaborators from her days living in Nashville.
Krantz knew that Nashville based drummer Adam Box and keys player Dave Cohen, would be the perfect people to help realise 'We Could Be High'. The gentle, Americana-infused track is about taking a leap of faith in the hopes of finding the ultimate high.
“I couldn’t write about the experience of being separated from my family and friends, in a city I had only recently moved to and had barely begun to call home when the world shut down," she explains.
"I wasn’t ready to tap into those layered and conflicting emotions. I wanted… no, I needed to write a song which gave me hope. A song which lifted my spirits when I sang it."
