The soulful Irish singer has collaborated with rapper Jafaris to produce her third release of 2022 following the success of her 2021 EP What Now.
Waterford-born singer Carrie Baxter will hit 'The Main Stage' on RTÉ One tonight at 9.30pm with Irish rapper/singer-songwriter Jafaris, performing a live version of their just-released track 'Satellite'.
Boasting soulful rhythms, 'Satellite' melds Carrie's dreamy, sensual vocals with smooth yet infectious production. Jafaris' slick bars effortlessly compliment the track and vocal, creating a serene R&B masterpieces. The track is designed as a perfect groovy accompaniment to a late night after party, but could just as easily make a great poolside track, or morning listening outside your tent at Electric Picnic.
Following the success of Baxter's 2021 EP What Now, the singer has brought her liquid-gold voice to the crowds of Beyond the Pale, All Together Now, and tomorrow night she'll hit We’ve Only Just Begun in Whelan's.
Discussing 'Satellite' and working with Jafaris, Baxter said: "Jafaris and I wrote and recorded the track on Paddys Day this year—and no, there was no Guinness involved, surprisingly. Although I was aware of his music, it was our first time meeting and when he sang 'feel like you're stringing me along you’re like a cello,' we just clicked."
The Irish-born, London-based singer added: "We wrote the song pretty quickly and it was a cool experience to have both our main producers in the same room working together too so the song is a complete blend of both of our sounds and influences."
Jafaris, who's 2019 album Stride was nominated for the RTÉ Choice Music Prize, discussed meeting Carrie for the first time, describing the singer as "incredible". The rapper explained: "I first met Carrie on Paddy’s Day, and it was also my first time listening to her music and I thought she was incredible.

"Our session was extremely smooth and comfortable, we bounced off each other so well. We ended our session with a bop that I believe people are gonna fall in love with."
