“I loved London, but not the cost of living and not being separated from so many people I care about. It was great for the years I was there, I met so many great people and learnt so much but I was ready to come back home.”
After 4 years grafting in the London music scene, Conor Scott has returned home to Belfast, ready to continue his drive for the dream. Conor's latest single is ‘Slip’, a track that is very close to home for the singer-songwriter.
“It’s essentially about moving home to Belfast from London," Conor explains. "I had a lot of doubts, fears and anxieties of what the outcome would be. Having the trust and support of those close to me really helped me to go forward with the move and in the end, it was the right thing for me.”
'Slip' celebrates Irish music and the influence that growing up here has had on Conor as an artist. “There’s a lot of traditional Irish influences in the music too. The title refers to a Slip-Jig, the same rhythmic timings that the track has. There’s also a bodhran back beat and a lilting jig melody in the background.”
While Conor loved his years living in London – writing, networking, recording and everything in between, it can be a tough city for a young aspiring artist. Being away from loved ones and away from home takes its toll.

When Conor moved back to Belfast in 2019, a month later he was off on tour with Ryan McMullan across the UK and Europe. That December, he supported Hudson Taylor at their infamous Christmas show run in Whelan’s, followed by a sold-out Belfast headline show, and finally reconnected with himself and his audience.
