Jehnova and lod are new members of the andfriends records family (helmed by Uly), and today they release 'hwlcky', the debut track from their forthcoming mixtape, Avenoir. 

Fusing jazz, soul and a love for 90s boombap, Jehnova teamed up with Dublin-based producer lod and lo-fi indie artist –and one of our Hot for 2020 picks – Uly to create the stunning, idiosyncratic track.

"I wanted to capture how in my life, I feel like I’ve gotten used to the loop of the everyday; doing the same shit, getting trapped inside a ‘things will never change’ state of mind," Jehnova says.

"Success, independence and freedom feel impossible to attain when you’re trapped in that kind of routine. The progression of the lyrics is liberation from that, understanding how significant a new day can be — if you choose to look at it as such.”
