Singer-songwriter MAIA enters the Irish music scene with a bang with 'BOSS'.
Dublin based multi-instrumentalist MAIA has released her debut single, titled ‘BOSS’.
Featuring pulsating bass and breathy vocals, MAIA's first introduction to the Irish music scene is a memorable one. With musical influences ranging from Prince to Mac Miller, the singer-songwriter infuses her pop track with R&B and electronic music elements.
At the track's core is a familiar tale: a fiery yet unstable summer fling. The relationship is messy, the lovers running back to each other every time they break apart - the singer wanting more from the relationship while full well knowing that her partner is not willing to commit.
As the song progresses, the message turns from one of longing into one of frustration, as her partner remains unwilling to commit. Finally, the track comes out in defiance of the mind-games, with the singer asserting her needs and desires.

The track was written and produced by MAIA and Alex O’Keeffe in O’Keeffe’s studio in December 2020. The producer worked with the likes of Jafaris, Rushes, Fia Moon, St. Bishop, Emma Edel, Alice Kiernan, Bobbi Arlo and Erica Cody.
