The Louth band have added a new date at London's Camden Assembly on November 8th ahead of their new EP release on July 29th.
Irish indie-pop-rock outfit modernlove. have shared the the latest cut from their forthcoming EP Oh My Mind - out July 29th through Akira Records.
In the wake of previous single releases like 'Don't Wanna', 'Us', 'Follow You' and most recently 'Islands', modernlove. continue the support for their awaited new project with 'familiar'.
Continuing the same rich and glossy texture of their output over the last few months, 'familiar' looks to cement the group as both heartfelt and passionate. Their newest release brings back more of that warm and alluring aesthetic they have cultivated for themselves, brimming with bright and tender moments throughout.
Speaking about the new single, they said, "familiar is a song about seeing an ex for the first time after breaking up. It's about seeing them from across a bar with somebody else, having moved on with their life and the feelings that moment can evoke.
"It also explores the idea that we long for something familiar and comforting when we're not in a very good place in our lives and that an ex can provide a temporary, albeit unhealthy, escape from that loneliness and anxiety," the Louth band add. "We wanted to reflect that emotional depth in the sonics as well, this is the closest we've come to R'n'B chords on the keys for example. But also not lose that modernlove bounce, it's a pop song at heart."

modernlove. will also be embarking on their first UK and Ireland tour in November later this year. Demand for these shows has been high, so the band have added a new date at London's Camden Assembly on the 8th November, with their Manchester performance now upgraded to YES! (Basement).
'Oh My Mind' follows on from their debut EP monochrome blue, which was released in September 2021, and saw modernlove. combine their earliest work into a statement debut offering.
Featuring the singles 'Liquorice', '2 Missed Calls' and 'lmk (if you wanna see me)', they received strong playlist and radio support as well as securing 'One to Watch' slots from major tastemakers (Hot Press included).
