Rising quartet Powerful Creative Minds have shared new single 'Am I Wasting Time?', taken from their new EP of the same name.

PCM are a Dublin-raised hip-hop group featuring grade A violinist and vocalist Jazzy Yaz, producer Bombitty, and rappers Ricks and Ciaran.

Never shying away from tough themes and emotional lyrics, the young group are making waves in their hometown of Crumlin and beyond.

The Powerful Creative Minds crew officially released their debut EP, #39, last December following a slew of recent song releases.

'Am I Wasting Time' was written from a reflectional point of view, querying whether we pass the years by in our relationships, jobs or in music. PCM have been questioning all aspects of life over the last two years during lockdown and with all of these restrictions that have been put on us.

Jazzy Yaz's soulful vocals are layered over an up-tempo hip-hop beat, pondering the lack of freedom since Covid-19 hit Ireland. The world's capitalist society curates a rigorous 9-5 lifestyle, giving us little time for actually living life the way we want to. Time passes by, but are we truly happy?

Gareth Stack is credited for his incredible work directing, filming and editing the outfit's latest music video. Hard-hitting beats paired with simple elements work to give the lyrics more of punch.

'Problems of These Days' and second single, 'Hope is Good, Change is Real' were released late last year, with the band never shying away from tough themes and emotional lyrics.

Influenced by Stephen Reddington - Ricks and Ciaran’s father - the DJ played on 12’10 Technics and threw himself into the underground world of hip-hop.
