Wunderhorse's debut album Cub arrives on September 16th via Communion Records.
Jacob Slater, aka Wunderhorse, is blasting forward with a primal new single 'Leader of the Pack', which landed today.
Clocking in at three minutes, ‘Leader of the Pack’ is a succinct burst of sonic domination. A scuzzy blues guitar hook coalesces with Jacob Slater’s vocal growl to make for a track which packs an undeniably bite.
‘Leader of the Pack’ is released alongside a lyric video, featuring footage from Wunderhorse’ recent performances at Dublin, Manchester and Leeds
"Leader of the Pack is a song about betrayal,” Jacob says of the track. ‘About not being able to escape the thing that eats away at you, it's a song written as a means of getting even.”

Slater and his band are growing into something of a must-watch live act in 2022, with ‘Leader of the Pack’ becoming a dynamic cornerstone of the setlist.
Support slots with Sam Fender, Foals and Fontaines D.C. have been knocked out of the park in recent weeks, and Wunderhorse’ 3-night residency at Soho’s Third Man Records sold out in the blink of an eye.
Wunderhorse’ next London headline show will take place in October at Lafayette, tickets are available here.
‘Leader of the Pack’ will feature alongside recent single ‘Butterflies’ on a double A-side 7” vinyl which is available here via the Wunderhorse store.
Both singles will appear on debut album Cub. Set for release shortly before Slater’s 25th birthday, Cub collates and bookmarks Jacob’s journey out of the innocence of youth and into adulthood.
Having risen to attention as the frontman of chaotic London punks Dead Pretties at the age of 17, these Wunderhorse tracks are the fruits of maturity: a testament to exiting the road to self-destruction, gaining perspective, and realising the potential of an abundant songwriting talent.
In head-turning move, Jacob made his acting debut as Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook in Danny Boyle’s new biopic series PISTOL, which arrived on Disney+ in May.
