Those who criticised the first Venom teaser for withholding it's central character from viewers can rejoice. This new trailer features tons of alien symbiote action.
Venom is intended to be the first film in Sony's Marvel Universe, adjunct to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It centres on journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) who following a scandal attempts to revive his career by investigating the villainous Life Foundation. In doing so, he comes into contact with an alien symbiote that bonds with him forming Venom.
While typically a Spider-Man villain, this incarnation reimagines the titular character as an anti-hero. This new trailer sees Venom taking down multiple gunmen, flipping cars, threatening and eating someone in front of a cashier and licking a man's face.
On top of Venom action, this new trailer features more of Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and Riz Ahmed (Rogue One, The Night Of) as shady corporate villain Carlton Drake. Also appearing in the film is four-time Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams (Manchester by the Sea), three-time nominee Woody Harrleson (Three Billboards) and comedian Jenny Slate (Hotel Artemis).
