Organisers encourage anyone taking part arrive at The Garden of Remembrance at least 15 minutes early.
A Dublin Trans & Intersex Pride solidarity march will take place tomorrow afternoon, Saturday July 8th. The march will begin from The Garden of Remembrance at 2pm.
Protestors expect to reach the Dáil by 3pm, where a series of speeches will take place for approximately an hour. The event will be followed by an afterparty with DJs in Street 66 on Parliament Street at 5pm.
Organisers have requested that anyone taking part arrive 15 minutes early. They have also said that they “strongly encourage” all attendees to wear masks, and that a mask-mandated section will be available at the march. Chairs and an ISL interpreter will also be present for the speeches, for accessibility.

“The last few years have been some of the deadliest on record for queer people,” read an Instagram post from @transpridedublin. “From hundreds of anti-trans, anti-drag and anti-LGBTQIA+ bills being proposed in the US, to the Tory party of Britain’s relentless war on trans people in the middle of a strike wave and cost of living crisis.”
This may be viewed by some as a “culture war”, but it’s a culture war with devastating effects on the lives of trans people and queer people as a whole, such as the horrific deaths of Brianna Ghey and Eden Knight.”
“Back home in Ireland, the government’s failed neoliberal policies have allowed the far-right to flourish and, similar to the Tories, their main targets are queer people and immigrants,” the caption continued. “Join us on July 8th to come together and fight! Now is the time to speak up. Now is the time to get organised. Now is the time to say loudly and unequivocally: 'Trans rights are human rights!”
