Yesterday, it was announced that Grimes and Elon Musk gave birth to a baby. Musk posted a photo of himself and the baby on Twitter. When asked what the child's name was, he somewhat cryptically responded: "X Æ A-12". Although the sincerity of his tweet is unconfirmed, news blogs and Twitter users alike are beginning to speculate, and indeed refer to the baby by that name.

Earlier on in her pregnancy, Grimes made the decision not to reveal the baby's sex to the public because the couple plan to raise a gender neutral child, in the case that's "not how they feel in their life". She went on to confirm this decision on Twitter after a user asked her whether she was having a boy or a girl, saying "they may decide their fate and identity". Despite this, certain news sites are still referring to the baby as Grimes' "son", which is disappointing, to say the least.

There are no shortage of memes circulating the internet, and one Twitter user suggests that that is exactly why Musk named his child X Æ A-12:

• UPDATE: Late Tuesday night, Grimes seemingly confirmed the child's name on Twitter, explaining what all of the characters mean. I suppose only time will tell if they're serious or not.
