The limited eight-week season kicks off in December.
A new production of Belfast-born playwright David Ireland's Ulster American has been announced – starring Dublin actor Louisa Harland, alongside Woody Harrelson and Andy Serkis. The play will run at London's Riverside Studios from December 4, 2023, to January 28, 2024.
According to the synopsis on Playography Ireland, Ulster American tells the story of Jay (an "American Oscar-winning actor leading a new play that connects with his Irish roots"), Leigh (an "English director who will do anything to get noticed") and Ruth (a "Northern Irish playwright whose voice must be heard").
"The stage is set for success," the description continues, "but when they meet to discuss the play’s challenges and provocations a line is crossed, and their heated discussion quickly escalates into violence."
The play was first produced and performed at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh, in August 2018.
The official website of the upcoming production states that the play will touch on issues like "power dynamics, cultural identity and the perils of being a woman in the entertainment industry."

Jay will be played by Harrelson, who's returning to the London stage for the first time in almost 20 years. Serkis will appear as Leigh, while Harland – famed for her role as Orla in Derry Girls – will star as Ruth.
The new production of Ulster American will be directed by Jeremy Herrin, and produced by Second Half Productions.
In a statement, Herrin remarked that he is "delighted that this rollercoaster of a play has summoned such a stellar roster of talent to join us for this pitch-black comedy at the beautifully refurbished Riverside Studios."
“I’ve always admired David Ireland’s fearlessness and the way he manages to skewer pretension in its many guises," he continued. "It’s an honour to bring the legend Woody Harrelson to London, to welcome Andy Serkis back to the stage after so much success in the movies, and to enjoy the brilliant Louisa Harland going toe-to-toe with them both.”
