Having your Drake and eating it
Nathan Drake’s first three games are repackaged in smooth 60fps and 1080p resolution. In Drake’s Fortune, the first adventure in the series, search for treasure on the mythical island of El Dorado. The jungle vegetation is so lush you can almost smell the malaria. Time has been less kind to the gameplay, which is clunkier than a hobnail boot.
In Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Drake found his groove. From the opening sequence, in which Drake climbs a train car that has plunged over a cliff, it’s heart-thumping stuff.
Veering from rooftop chase scenes to tomb-raiding puzzles, gun battles and moments of high drama, Among Thieves is paced like a brilliant action flick.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is full of showcase moments, including an escape from a sinking ship and a fistfight on an aircraft. Uncharted’s greatest assets are its characters: sidekick Sully, on-off love interest Elena, and loveable rogue Drake. This bumper package lacks extras, such as concept art, but sets the stage for Nate’s fourth outing in 2016.
