A banner in support of the Dublin football team, fixed to the Ha'penny Bridge is to be reviewed by Dublin City Council.
The banner, which reads 'Up the Dubs' covers railings end to end on one side of the historic bridge.
So the Up The Dubs banner on the Ha'penny Bridge is to be taken down. Whatever about its location, one thing I believe is that our town should have flags and banners everywhere celebrating these great teams that bring us so much joy. We should be proud and not afraid to show it! pic.twitter.com/5sMu20Gidi

The banner is fixed to the railings in the lead up to a final and is supposed to come down the next day, however the banner is still in place now over a week since Dublin beat Galway to win the league final.
The banner has received mixed reactions. Heritage group An Taisce says the iconic and protected Ha'penny bridge "should not be concealed, never mind defaced with any form of promotional material."

Some fans have argued that the iconic piece of Dublin should stay.
Please sign my petition to save our beautiful "Up the Dubs Dublin City Supporting the Dubs" banner on Ha'penny Bridge. We must come together to stop the barbaric removal of this great Dublin landmark. The banner *is* Dublin.https://t.co/lTRKUTUjqP

@DubCityCouncil Why is the “Up The Dubs” Banner being removed from the Ha’penny Bridge?. It’s our city!

So the Up the Dubs banner is causing concern amongst some citizens of our city enough to bother @DubCityCouncil. Do they not have more pressing matters to be concerned with than showing some pride in our Gaelic Games teams??...
