The female-fronted five-piece are among the hottest new bands in the UK right now – and their first headline tour is coming to Dublin, Galway and Derry.
Valeras, one of the most highly touted new bands in British rock, are set to make their Irish debut, as part of an upcoming tour of the UK and Ireland. Hailed by BBC Introducing, and heavily supported by Jack Saunders of Radio 1, Valeras take no prisoners live – marking their first ever Irish dates down as ones to savour.
From Reading, the band comprises five members in all, three female and two male: that's Rose, Max, George, Cat and Katie. They have recently supported The Wombats, Greta Van Fleet, The Amazons, King Nun and Demob Happy, among others. However, Valeras, who are essentially a guitar band, with a punky edge, are now set to embark on their first headlining tour.
In an 18-date stint that kicks off in Brighton on 5 February, there are four Irish shows, opening with a Ruby Sessions appearance, in Doyle's, Dublin on Tuesday, 26 February. This is followed by gigs in Roisin Dubh, Galway (Feb. 27), Whelan's Upstairs (Feb 28) and Bennigan's Bar, Derry (March 1).
"The Valeras' mix of big, heavy hooks, heartfelt lyrics and groove-based rhythms have made their live shows unmissable," a spokesperson said, setting out their stall, "leaving Valeras ready to lead the fightback for guitar music in 2019."
If that whets your appetite, you can check the music out pronto: the band have just released their new single 'Richochet (Nuncia Morirá)'.
