London-based artist Tara Noble released her punchy debut single 'Feel Better' last week, and Hot Press are delighted to premiere the exclusive music video for the synth-infused, indie-pop track.

Tara is also the lead vocalist and bass player for London/Brighton based alt-rock trio TASH, who blend heavy guitar-driven angst with pop sensibility. The band's Robbie Paice produced 'Feel Better'.

'Feel Better' was unleashed by Noble as a response to the last year of her life and the effect it had on her mental health. The track is a is an explanation to herself about the rollercoaster of emotions experienced during the national lockdown; acting as a promise made to herself and those around her to ‘feel better in the fall’.

“This track is the nostalgia of the way I used to feel, and the fight within myself with the way that I feel now," Tara explains, referencing the intense highs and lows of emotional desperation.

Noble fuses her alternative background with catchy pop harmonies, with soft pastel visuals creating the aesthetic of an approachable girl simply trying to tackle her melancholy, everyday problems.

"The making of the ‘Feel Better’ music video was definitely a DIY one," Tara tells Hot Press of the music video.

"Being kept inside due to the national lockdown it was down to me and my very kind flatmate to come up with a video that was within budget and within the lockdown guidelines. We cleared a wall of my bedroom and hung a sheet and some fairy lights to try and create the soft pastel mood, even though the song is about something quite sad, I wanted to create a sense of hope and nostalgia throughout the video. The clips of friends smiling and laughing is an ode to how everyone must be feeling in this national lockdown, it’s bittersweet but acts as encouragement to stay strong and hopeful about the future."

"In the track I talk about “someone out there must be feeling better”, this is referenced in the video as myself being the one that is feeling better but it is shown in the past through videos as ‘memories’," the musician adds. "As my debut track, ‘Feel Better’ is very special to me - as is the video."

"I hope that it will create that sense of hope I talk about within those that watch it and as the national lockdown is slowly lifted, we are all one step closer to being more like our old selves."
