The rally has been organised by Colm O’Gorman, Executive Director of Amnesty Ireland and abuse survivor.
Irish band Villagers have revealed that they will be performing at the ‘Stand for Truth’ Rally in protest of Pope Francis’ visit. Thousands are expected to be in attendance of the rally, which occurs at the same time as Pope Francis’ mass in Phoenix Park.
The band will perform at 2.30 on Sunday 26th August at the Garden of Remembrance. The band tweeted that the rally will be “a peaceful gathering for everyone who has been harmed or abused by the Catholic Church, or who wishes to stand in solidarity with those harmed by its actions.”
Villagers will be performing alongside the likes of Hozier, Liam Ó’Maonlaí, Róisín O from the band Thanks Brother, and Mary Black along with spoken word performances from poet Sarah Clancy and Grace Dyas.
