One of the country’s most successful comedy festivals will return to Galway from October 24-30.
Having won plaudits for being the world’s friendliest city and recently designated as the European Capital of Culture for 2020, Galway will play host to the Vodafone Comedy Carnival later this year.
Some of the first acts revealed for the festival include 2017 Grammy Award Winner Patton Oswalt, Jon Richardson, British Comedy Award winner Katy Brand, Today FM stalwarts Al Porter and Dermot & Dave, and long-time Irish favourite Reginald D Hunter.
Festival director Kevin Healy said “We are revealing this first wave of acts earlier than usual because we are so excited about these exclusive shows that we couldn’t keep them secret. We just know that comedy fans will want to get in early and get their plans in place to be front and centre at comedy central this October. The full festival programme will be revealed in late August and we guarantee that we have a amazing festival planned for you.”
