Ailbhe Reddy's emotional ballad 'Shoulder Blades' is out now.
Dublin alternative artist Ailbhe Reddy has just come out with new single 'Shoulder Blades', along with a CLTV Film-produced music video that's bound to tug on your heartstrings.
The song is a beautiful and emotional piano-led ballad that tells a story about day-to-day love. "It is an attempt at encapsulating the quiet love you can feel for someone when you're inhabiting the same space. Watching how they go about their day, drink their coffee, read their book. Just appreciating being around them," Reddy explains.
The song's emotional weight is heightened even further by the brass arrangement done by Dublin's Uly.
The video, directed by Katie Freeney for Dublin filmmaking collective CLTV, stars Sorcha McElroy and Niamh Barry. It captures a tear jerkingly sweet yet simple love story between the two, in mundane settings like a park, in bed, or the bus. Reddy wrote on Instagram, "This video made me cry when I first saw it and I'm so proud to have it alongside my song."

Reddy released her debut album Personal History in 2020 and was highly praised for her "relatable lyricism and uniquely tender vocals." Pitchfork wrote, "Personal History constantly confronts us with emotional honesty, pressing on bruises that feel all too familiar." She also earned herself a nomination for the Choice Music Prize album of the year.
