A teaser for the second season of HBO's critically acclaimed West World premiered yesterday at San Diego's Comic Con.
The trailer, set to a cheery "I Gotta Be Me" by Sammy Davis Junior, hints at an android uprising. It opens with a player piano gearing up, followed by an image of Bernard Lowe (Jeffrey Wright) staring at a dead tiger. What follows is a triumphant montage of bloodshed by the hosts, including Maeve (Thandie Newton) looking mildly perplexed as she looks down at a macabre scene, and Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and Teddy (James Marsden) mowing down guests on horseback. The teaser ends on a chilling note with a closeup of the blood-splattered face of The Man In Black (Ed Harris), who breaks into a slow grin.
The sci-fi western, which premiered on HBO in 2016, boasts the title of the single most-watched first season of an HBO original series to date. While we do not yet have an official air date for season two, we can expect the 10 new episodes sometime in 2018.
