Pre-pandemic, the Iowa native was a regular at Dublin open mic nights.
Elizabeth Moen has put her bluesy spin on Fontaines D.C.'s 'Oh Such A Spring'. The Iowa born singer-songwriter – who featured on our 'Hot For 2020' list of international acts to watch – would normally be splitting her time between Ireland, Iowa and San Fransisco, were it not for the pandemic.
"I was at Hyde Street Studios this weekend recording and we had an extra bit of time," Moen posted in the video's description. "I had been singing this tune to myself all week. I think anyone can relate to 'Oh Such a Spring' right now. Things were so different seven months ago."
The cover was recorded and mixed by Scott McDowell, and shot on an iPhone. Moen's intoxicating vocal imbues the grim A Hero's Death track with a melancholy hopefulness.
