Care for drones, electronic organ replacement and all the paranoia that comes with the package? An all-star cast weaves together this thrilling futuristic tale.
Author Dave Eggers will get to see his 2013 thriller novel on the big screen by next year. Big names on the cast list include Tom Hanks, Emma Watson, John Boyega, Karen Gillan and Bill Paxton.
Directed by James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now), the film follows a woman who obtains a job at the Circle - a very powerful technology company. Through Emma Watson's eyes, the audience learns about the mysterious company and what happens when technology turns bad. Ponsoldt comments on Watson's character, "She becomes a pseudo-celebrity with her superpower, that she's natural, relatable and willing to speak freely about everything in her life. But it gets to the point where it's almost a religion and then a glass prison of celebrity."
In the trailer, viewers also get a glimpse at Tom Hanks who portrays Bailey, a man who holds a highly respected position at the Circle. "Bailey's notion is that knowing is good, and knowing everything is better," the Indie director notes.
