The ninth film from the legendary director is set to hit the big screen this July.
Set in Hollywood in the 1960s, against the backdrop of the Charles Manson murders, the film tells the story of a washed-up actor and his stunt double.
The first trailer for the film debuted this morning. It featured Leonardo DiCaprio playing Rick Dalton a washed-up actor known for a television Western, and Brad Pitt playing Dalton’s best friend and stunt double Cliff Booth.
Margot Robbie plays Sharon Tate, with Emile Hirsch, Timothy Olyphant, Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern, Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning and the late Luke Perry also featuring.
“I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles county most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old,” Tarantino has been reported as saying of the film. “I’m very excited to tell this story of an LA and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore.”
