Final Portrait marks Stanley Tucci’s return to directing after ten years. The film centers on a few weeks in the life of Swiss painter and sculptor, Alberto Giacometti, who is played by the talented Geoffrey Rush. The anguished artist decides to paint American author and art critic, James Lord (Armie Hammer). Final Portrait is actually adapted from Lord’s own memoir, A Giacometti Portrait.
