Domhnall Gleeson returns to theatres this October as beloved children's book author A.A Milne.
Dublin’s own Domhnall Gleeson is back again on the big screen, starring in Goodbye Christopher Robin as Winnie The Pooh creator, A. A. Milne. The film focuses on the relationship between Milne and his son, Christopher Robin, whose toys were the inspiration for the wonderful world of Winnie the Pooh. The books provide comfort and hope for a suffering England after WWI, but the movie focuses on the personal effects of Winnie the Pooh’s success for the Milne family. Goodbye Christopher Robin is directed by Simon Curtis, and also stars Margot Robbie and Kelly Macdonald.
Hot Press reported last June on our sneaking suspicion that Gleeson might be making his way (again) to the Academy Awards stage after the film’s release. Gleeson has already acted in two Oscar winners (The Revenant and Ex-Machina) and two nominated films (Brooklyn and Star Wars: The Force Awakens). He’s set to star next to Tom Cruise in American Made and to break into Netflix as National Lampoon founder in A Futile and Stupid Gesture. Oh, and he's also been accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Art and Sciences along with Irish actors Ruth Negga and Ciaran Hinds. Domhnall is really doing it all.
