Watch: The Lego Batman Movie – Comic-Con Trailer
People commonly mistake the plural form of “Lego” as “Legos.” It’s actually just “Lego.”
The Lego Movie was a real hit. The idea that a movie based on a toy property would be as good as it was, but here we are. Everything about that movie was a riot, Batman included. In a stark departure from the moody, self-absorbed portrayal that most are used to, Will Arnett’s take on the character was silly, skewering the self-flagellating attitude that audiences are used to.
Now, that Batman is getting his own movie (and toys, can’t forget the toys). So far, the voice roles confirmed include Zach Galifinakis as Joker, Michael Cera as Dick Grayson (the first Robin), Rosario Dawson as Barbara Gordon (Batgirl), Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, and Mariah Carey as the mayor of Gotham City. All characters are expected to get their own real world minifigures.
Look for The Lego Batman Movie in theatres on 10 February 2017.
